In fact this is the second time that I have chaired the Association, the last time being in 2001, and things have changed quite significantly since then, not least that the expertise and views of our members have become recognised more by the various Government and other Professional bodies dealing with transport and road safety issues.
I am still mindful that the economic climate is very uncertain and this has undoubtedly had an impact on our membership figures which regrettably have fallen below the 700 that we managed to reach at this time last year. I am pleased to report that the AIRSO Council of Management continue to have membership high on it’s agenda and are always striving to look for new and innovative ideas to maintain, retain and increase our numbers.
